Why old AVI files are hard to send
AVI is a 1990s RIFF container. Many camcorders, screen recorders and older exports still write it, often with bulky codecs or almost no compression. A short AVI can outweigh a longer MP4 of the same look, and several phones, web players and mail clients handle it poorly. Compressing AVI to a smaller MP4 fixes size and playback in one step — without hunting down desktop software.
