Subscription Policies

Last updated: October 5, 2026

This page explains how paid plans on compressvid.io work—billing, monthly credits, cancellation, and refunds. Read it before you subscribe. By purchasing a plan you accept these terms along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. What you are buying

Paid access is a monthly subscription. You pick a plan on the Pricing page; each plan includes a monthly credit allowance and a higher upload size cap. Credits are the unit we use to meter compression jobs (see the Pricing page for the rough 1080p rule of thumb).

Subscriptions are for personal or business use on this product only. They are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

2. Billing cycle

Your first payment starts the cycle. Unless you cancel, the subscription renews automatically on the same calendar day each month at the plan price shown at checkout (tax may apply where required).

If a renewal cannot be collected—expired card, insufficient funds, or a payment method we cannot process—the subscription may pause and your account can fall back to the free plan for the next cycle. Fix your payment method and resubscribe whenever you are ready.

Promotional list prices (for example a struck-through “was” price) are display anchors for the current offer. The amount charged is always the price shown as the current price at checkout.

3. Monthly credits

  • Each paid cycle includes that plan’s monthly credits (see Pricing).
  • Job cost is shown before you start compressing, so you can decide whether to continue.
  • If a compression job fails or expires, credits spent on that job return to your balance automatically.
  • Credits cannot be transferred to another account or redeemed for cash.

Plan changes: upgrading applies the new plan and credit level according to the checkout flow; downgrading takes effect after the current paid period ends. Where a payment provider prorates a change, you will see that amount before you confirm.

4. Cancel anytime

You can cancel from the account area or the billing portal at any time. There is no cancellation fee. After you cancel, the plan remains active until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account moves to the free tier at the next boundary.

Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not by itself create a refund for the current period. See the next section for when a refund is possible.

5. Refunds

Please review plan limits and the tool on the free tier before paying. When something goes wrong on our side, we will make it right.

A first-time subscription payment may be refunded if you contact us within 14 days of that payment and you have not used the paid plan’s credits yet. If some credits were used, we may refund the unused portion only.

These are not eligible for a refund:

  • Requests after 14 days from the original payment
  • Renewals or repeat purchases after your first subscription
  • Simply forgetting to cancel before renewal (you can still cancel to stop the next cycle)
  • Change of mind after the plan’s credits have been used

Successful jobs are delivered digital goods. Prefer a trial on the free plan if you are unsure the tool fits your files.

6. Price updates

If we change list prices for a plan, the new price applies to later renewals. We will note material changes on the Pricing page; your current paid period keeps the price you already paid.

7. Content you upload

You confirm you have the right to process every file you upload and that doing so does not break the law or third-party rights. That duty stays with you even after a successful compression.

8. Questions

Email support at the address listed in our Terms or use the contact options in the footer. Include the email on your account and your order id so we can look up the payment quickly.
